Halloween season is upon us again, and these Halloween silhouette bags could not be more perfect for your children to tote around all their hard won trick or treat booty. I made them with the girls in just a few minutes, and the results truly are spectacular. You will need just a few simple materials:
You may choose to draw your own Halloween themed silhouette, but the girls and I decided to search Google image for "Halloween silhouette", and each girl scrolled and picked her favorite. We printed the images directly onto the label paper (using quickprint to save some ink), and cut out the images, creating a sort of sticker-stencil.
We peeled off the back of the paper and placed the sticker-stencil on the bag. I also cut out some extra plain label paper to put around the edges of the sticker stencil, to give the bag some extra protection from the ink when the girls painted the images.
I went with clear label paper because I happened to have it on hand, but I would suggest using white for this project, because the clear sticker made the edges pretty tricky to see. The girls painted inside the stickers, and after clean-up I pulled the sticker off of the tote, revealing these very neat, clear Halloween silhouettes. I let them dry overnight and used an iron to heat set the ink the next day, placing a piece of old teeshirt between the image and the iron.
Perfect for Trick or Treating!
